Ecore Athletic Partners with Olympic Champion Dan O’Brien as Track Performance Consultant
Ecore Athletic, a leader in high-performance athletic surfacing, announces a new partnership with Olympic gold medalist Dan O’Brien, who will serve as a Track Performance Consultant. In this role, O’Brien will support Ecore’s efforts in education, product research and development, sales engagement and industry outreach across the track-and-field market.
A four time World champion and gold medalist in the decathlon at the 1996 Olympic Games, O’Brien is widely regarded as one of the greatest track-and-field athletes of all time. Today, he remains deeply involved in the sport as an elite coach, track meet director and broadcaster. He also serves as a consultant within USA track and Field and the US Olympic-Paralympic committee. He resides in Scottsdale AZ.
Through this partnership, O’Brien will work closely with Ecore Athletic to provide insights into athlete performance needs, contribute to product innovation and participate in key industry events, including upcoming trade shows and speaking opportunities.
“Ecore Athletic is focused on helping athletes perform at their highest level while reducing the risk of injury, and that starts with the surfaces they train and compete on,” said O’Brien. “I’m excited to partner with a company that is committed to innovation and understands the real-world demands of track and field. I look forward to contributing to the development of solutions that support athletes at every level.”
Ecore Athletic’s advanced surfacing solutions are engineered to support performance, safety and durability across a wide range of athletic environments, including indoor and outdoor tracks, training facilities and multi-use spaces. By incorporating feedback from elite athletes like O’Brien, Ecore continues to refine its offerings to meet the evolving needs of coaches, athletes and facility operators.
“Dan brings an unmatched level of credibility and experience to this partnership,” said David Sides, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Ecore. “His perspective as both an elite competitor and coach will be invaluable as we continue to develop surfaces that enhance performance, support recovery and meet the demands of modern track-and-field programs. We’re thrilled to have him as part of the Ecore Athletic team.”
O’Brien will also collaborate with Ecore on educational initiatives, sales meetings and customer engagement efforts, helping to bridge the gap between product innovation and real-world application. His involvement underscores Ecore’s commitment to advancing athletic performance through science-driven design and athlete-informed solutions.
Ecore Athletic will showcase its latest innovations and engage with industry professionals at upcoming events, including the NAIA National Convention, taking place April 10-14, where O’Brien will be on site.
